What we do Vs. What they do...
The following item is from the Redfin forum. The point here is what we do and who we are.
We are full service. We ALWAYS put client interest ahead of self interest. Not showing short sales is an example of self interest. You get what you pay for. None of us wants to go on an endless tour bonanza but our clients understand that.
Hey Redfin buyers.... give us a call. oh... Redfin is a registered trademark of Redfin Corp and we wish them all the best... really.
"I have followed redfin since its very beginnings and was so excited to use their services but have to admit some disappointment. We're looking for a house on the low end of the Seattle market making it critical that we get in to see new listings quick -- as they go fast -- but it seems impossible to setup a tour within 24 hours of a listing. I left a message with redfin this weekend, called twice today, and still no home tour! Anyone else have this experience? Any tips on how to overcome this problem? It makes me wonder whether or not we'd be better off with a more traditional agency...
Kudos! Thanks!

Hi Ash,
I went on a tour today. I sent the request last night around 5pm and they called first thing in the morning. I set up an appointment to tour four homes later that afternoon, I was very impressed with their promptness. Maybe that's not the case all the time, but I have had pretty good luck. Did you send over your preapproval letter? If not, maybe they don't think you're a serious buyer?
One thing I did notice was all the homes that were not listed as "short sales" on their site but were on their MLS sheets once I requested a tour and they refused to show the home due to their policies (which I understand, but still don't agree with). There were also a few that were currently rentals with leases through 2010! They (Refin) mentioned I could possibly "buy out" the renters, um... what? After talking to a few other realtors outside of Redfin, I get the impression that they are all tired of running around with people who just want to kick tires and make low-ball offers. But, isn't that the current environment we are in? It seems they should be fortunate to even have buyers ask for a tour!"
